I did a lot of journeys in my life, because I am very interested in seeing different places and countries. Also the several cultures at all the places in the world are a reason, why I don’t want to stay at home on holiday. Last year I spent two weeks of my summer holidays in Great Britain. Afterwards I rested in a nice Scandinavian country of Europe for one week. I had visited this lovely country called Sweden several times before, and I am always happy again to see the Swedish landscape and the nice people, who are living there.
For finding my way to Great Britain, I used a navigator in my car. I just typed in the name of the city I wanted to travel to so that I just had to follow the instructions of the female voice. On this long vacation my destination was London. My best friend doesn’t own a navigator for his car. If he wants to travel anywhere he uses his personal computer. He visits his favorite Internet page, where route plans can be displayed and also be printed. The site offers the service to calculate every location plan throughout Europe. Besides his printout he uses some maps to validate the route. Sometimes he also needs an Atlas for his validation. At the beginning of each travel by car he checks, if he didn’t forget his maps and his print-out, because these are the most important things that are necessary for his journeys.
For arriving at the capital city of England, I had to use a ferry. My car was forwarded by sea, while I had the chance to relax. It didn’t take me even two hours for sitting in my car again in order to continue my travelling to London. So I reached my hotel for that I had booked a room for thirteen nights without using any map. Also I hadn’t used a route planner on my PC before my journey began. The time in London was very nice. I visited a lot of museums and traditional places. Furthermore I went to several shopping streets for buying some souvenirs for my friends and relatives. Moreover I visited two events during my stay in this wonderful big city. First I went to a football match of the Londoner team of Arsenal on my first Sunday in the capital. Arsenal played very well, but nevertheless they didn’t win, as they unfortunately got a goal some minutes before the playing time was over. The second event I went to was a rock festival of some unknown British bands. Most of them played their instruments very well, and in my opinion two bands made really brilliant music.
When the two weeks ended, I was a little bit sad. But this situation changed very quickly, because I had another seven days of holidays before me. Sweden was calling for me. When I had been back home, it took me two days for washing my clothes and planning some other things, before I started my journey to Sweden. This time I traveled by plane. When I reached the airport in Stockholm, I took a taxi for arriving at my hotel. At home I had already written down the address of my accommodation. I showed the taxi driver the chit of paper, because my Swedish wasn’t good enough for reading it accident-free. So he was able to bring me to my lodging.
The week in Sweden was very relaxing. I spent a lot of time at gorgeous lakes and got to know some really friendly people. They didn’t only give me directions when I was asking the way, they also talked with me about many different things. One married couple invited me to their home, where we drank coffee and ate brilliant cake. After talking some hours, we gave our addresses to each other for contacting later on, and I returned to my hotel. Three days later my holidays were over. I traveled back to my hometown by airplane and saw my family again at the airport. The next day I went to work where I dreamt of the last weeks, before I was involved into some important operational procedures by some of my colleagues. So I found back to everyday life.
